Each year, this Award is presented to one or two nominated philanthropist, or anyone who has contributed their valuable time and/or money, and in so doing, has made a significant impact and benefit to the community at large.

2017

The 2017 Charitable Heart of Sydney Award went to Australia Day Honours recipients Prof Patricia Armati AM & Dr Roberta Chow AM for their work at the Sydney University Nerve Research Foundation (a beneficiary of SEBA’s past fundraising).

Both were made Members of the Order of Australia – Patsy for significant service to medical research in the field of neuroscience, to tertiary education, and to the community – Roberta for significant service to medicine as a clinician, and to pioneering developments in the use of laser therapy techniques for chronic pain management.

2016

The 2016 Charitable Heart of Sydney Award recipients were Barry & Joy Lambert.  Amongst other things, the Lamberts have donated $33.4M to the University of Sydney for what is called the Lambert Initiative for Cannabinoid Therapeutics.

2015

The 2015 Charitable Heart award recipient was Robert and Kelly Salteri, who are both ardent supporters and donors to multiple charities and foundations. Robert is the President of the Sydney Medical School Foundation and Director of Olbia Pty Ltd, parent company of Tenix Pty Ltd, an Australian owned enterprise with interest in investments, property, parking and traffic enforcement management.
